four different jewel tones of velvety soft nubuck leather and hand-sewn with
the finest craftsmanship, the "Ross Island" boat shoe moccasins are engineered to be timeless pieces of nautical footwear. This low cut pair of long-lasting, adventure-ready
nautical footwear are named after a tiny island off
the central coast of Maine—an island whose rocky coastline resembles the unique
pattern forms of Nubuck leather of this shoe's collar. It calls to mind the
rugged, but playful patchwork of materials—from mended flags to homemade
lobster buoys—that makes up so much of life on the Coast of Maine.
Born from the discovery
of an original design retrieved from the historic Sebago archives in Maine, and
following the traditionally made pattern, this classic boat shoe features a
snug leather sock lining, 360° rawhide lace system, and as mentioned, a collar
made with a truly unique combination of smaller leather cuts. Not to mention
the non-marking, anti-slip, siped rubber soles that offer a dependable grip in
all weather conditions.
