four different vibrant tones of velvet-soft nubuck leather and hand-sewn with
the finest craftsmanship, the "Ross Island" Jib boat shoe moccasins are engineered to be timeless nautical footwear. This pair of durable, adventure-ready
docksides are named after a small isle located off
the central Maine coast—an isle whose rocky coastline mimics the unique shape
of Nubuck leather that makes up this shoe's collar. It calls to mind the
rugged, but playful patchwork of materials—from homemade lobster buoys to
mended flags and fishing nets—that makes up so much of life in coastal Maine.
Discovered in the
historic Sebago archives in Maine, this original design was recreated following
the traditional pattern of this classic silhouette. Brought to life, this boat
shoe features a snug leather sock lining, 360° rawhide lace support system, and
the namesake collar made with a unique combination of smaller leather cuts.
Capped and sealed with non-marking, anti-slip, siped rubber soles, the Ross
Island Jib offers a dependable grip in all weather conditions as you sail
across the gulf of Maine to explore the uninhabited beauty of Ross Island.
