Although the shoes appear to be well constructed, I was dissapointed in the actual color of them in comparison to the advertisement. The ad makes them look like a totally raw leather which you would expect from a product called Saddler's leather, but the darker more common color of them doesn't give me the feeling they are worth the price I paid for them. If I could return them, I would do so and purchase a pair of Timberlines.

Great looking shoe! Leather is awesome. Definitely a higher quality than some other brands. A little narrow in the toebox compared to Sperry, but not too bad and this will stretch as they break in.
If you plan to wear socks at all, do not size down. I wear a 10 in boat shoes and these are a tiny bit long but can be remedied with the lacing system. I have a 9.5 in the Sloop and they are snug barefoot, and way too tight if I try to wear socks. Very pleased with these overall.
